My bullshit

Ten - 5 stars... album is a classic, there is nothing to be sorry for about that... I still listen to over half the album on a constant regular basis... that's gotta mean something

Vs - 4.5 stars... album is as good as a follow up album can possibly be. "Go" is just a kick ass way to start the album. it also has some more "experimental" sounds when compared to their first album... aww fuck it, I'm changing this up to 5 stars afer all... it deserves it

vitalogy - 4 stars... it probably deserves another half star because the good songs on this album are some of my personal favorites... This album is more intense and intimate... but I think it's also a little more dreary and sometimes has a "thrown together" sound... plus I'd like to trade those couple of goofy tracks for one real good one.... I'm not saying anything bad about this album.... I would love for nothing more than to go back in time and see them in concert at this stage in their career... I'm just bullshitting here

No Code - 4.5 stars.... It's not as legendary as Ten but I love their creativeness on this one... It's like they tried to make each song different from one another... tried new things and all that jazz... I think it's a step in the right direction after Vitalogy... I don't care who argues with me on that... this album always finds a way back into my player...

Yield - 5 stars... my favorite album.... I love the sound, the style, the tour... (first time I saw them live), I think this was the bands "peak"... whatever that means.... this album as a different/ more spiritual feel than the others... but that could just be more of my bullshit I guess...

Binaural - 3.5 stars... I'm going to get shit on for this... I just know it... this is a great album that I listen to everynow and then... but it also has many songs that I skip over... I think it's back to the more "dreary" sound of Vitalogy except more so on this one.... I have to really be in the mood for it... Not that that's a bad thing.... I'm just saying

Riot Act -3.5 stars... Most people hate this album for some reason... I kinda like it... it has a lot of the same problems Binaural has... But i don't think it's a step down or anything.... About half the tracks on this album are awesome and I believe totally make up for the other half... it is worth buying (just as Binaural is) but it is more reserved for die hard PJ fans (just as Binaural is)

Pearl Jam - 3.5 stars.... For me, this is actually my least favorite PJ album... it has a more digital quality to it.... I don't even know what that's supposed to mean so don't ask me to explain... just not very intimate I guess.... more "forced" I think... But again it's not a bad album... it it actually quite good and a great one to recomend to friends who've never gave PJ a chance... they might like it because the songs are a little more on the "poppy" side... it's a good album, lyrics are real good... I think I would've liked to hear some more "experimental" crap going on... but I could just be nit picking

And that's how I bullshit.... I know, I know... I suck, I'm terrible and I don't even make sense.... the wee hours of the morn can do that to a guy

call me nuts, say i'm just trying to look like a band worshiping fanboy, whatever .. but my HONEST opinion reguardless of what anyone thinks .. is that each PJ album gets 5 stars 100% .. yes, i like some albums better then others, but i think that each and every album has something HUGE to offer, and has each its own special quality to it. not a dull or lame moment in the PJ catalogue, way i see it. ten and vs - 5 stars for their anthemic and powerful rock masterpieces, vitalogy and no code - 5 stars for their brilliant experimentation (especially no code), yield - 5 stars for its spiritual, uplifting feel, and for being the best album ever made, binaural - 5 stars for just taking you to a whole other fucking world and drifting away, riot act - 5 stars for being extremely artsy and having such creative song structures, and avocado -5 stars for its pure raw energy and launching PJ's best tour ever.

so there you have it. every album is pure genius. i truly believe that. go nuts..

Gonna get blasted for this but I never think that Pearl Jam have released a 'perfect' album or even a great album that is consistent. There's some absoutely fantastic songs on each album - many of them would be ranked as my all time favourites. But there's always some duds that prevent it from soaring (although this could be attributed to the frustrating 'does it flow?' issue that the band seem to have).

At a stretch I'd say VS and Yield are their most consistent albums but they aint perfect.

So my favourite Pearl Jam album is the Greatest Hits album ;)

you don't like it none???!!!??? i am speechless, well maybe not; here we go....

(this has nothing to do with whether it is good or bad, just wanted to tell people )
the boston rock station WAAF, has a dj Mistress Carrie (spelling?) who does a daily hour block of songs called the "grunge plunge" at noon. one day they did her picks of "the best grunge songs" and Release came in at #1 (pearl jam , needless to say, had many other songs on the countdown)

that afternoon, while listening to the opening bars after she said "this has always been my favorite song", i shook my head and said to myself' "BEEYATCH I COULDN"T FUCKIN AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!!"
