hey what are your thoughts? you can't just come in and call out an entire forum without presenting your own theories as for why the antiwar movement has been somewhat quiet.......

Like when we were labeled "traitors" or "un-American" or "terrorist sympathizers" if we disagreed with the previous President?

I disagree with the current President on a lot of things, but I don't walk around carring signs depicting him as an African witch doctor or question his legitimacy as President based on his birth certificate or national origin.

The left cries where was the TEA party four years ago.

Where are you anti-war protestors now?
  • StarfallStarfall Posts: 548
Oh we're still protesting war, like we have been for decades. We just don't get the coverage that the Teabaggers do. Plus the current President is more engaged, more informed, and more accomodating than the last one's "my way or the highway" approach.

Besides, if we hadn't had to spend precious time, effort, blood and sweat fighting all those moronic yahoos out there talking about "death panels" and "socialism" and "guvmint ain't gettin' mah gunz" and instead engaged in honest debate, we could have gotten a lot more things done.

What are you talking about? I'm not supporting anything. I'm asking why Eddie gave up his vocal opposition to the wars that are still going strong.

We covered this already and I believe it was answered.

Where Are You Anti-war Protestors? and there was a large march here in DC back in March. Not much coverage but those like myself spoke out.

they are definitely going on still
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/2 ... 07159.html

but not seeing them in the media reports daily has nothing to do with the health care debate. It just seems as though this president is going to get a pass for a while as he tries to figure out the best strategy for withdrawal. Seems fair to me seeing as he didn't start the mess.

But I hope you don't seriously think the coverage of the war protests is lower because of all the "moronic yahoos" who yell and scream about other things. They, the morons, have been there forever and aren't going anywhere, if it wasn't death panels and socialism(now) it would be facism and oil prices(then).
And seriously, because you aren't in favor of gun control doesn't make you a moron, it just means you have a different opinion.

Considering all the media coverage given to the teabaggers, I'm not sure what else to think.

How about we have a debate about gun control when there really IS a debate on gun control going on, instead of screaming "OBAMA'S GUNNA TAKE YER GUNZ!" over an economic stimulus or a health care debate?

yeah it is now Obama's war, he realizes what a cluster it is and is not pulling out like he promised, so the Lib media who basically anointed him the presidency anyhow won't do anything negative about Barry OBama.

the media double standard is unreal, and no I am not a Bush lover (well the President at least)

i was at the kansas city show monday and ed played "no more" and it was amazing. it may have helped that he had the paralyzed vet that inspired the song and "body of war" come out on stage....it was a very powerful and emotional moment and i can tell that not only ed, but a lot of people in attendance are against these damn wars...
