Well-written, as sad as it is. My grandson lost his dad when my grandson was 6. I think about how he might answer when asked about his dad. You know, like "all kids have a dad". I watch him when we are out and about and he sees some kid with their dad. He seems to pause and watch and then move on to what we were doing. I wonder what he is thinking.

we don't have capital punishment in canada.

anyways, the crazy thing (or one of the crazy things) was the murderer was just an average guy with no record whatsover. according to his work he was a good worker. he had a family too. clearly had mental problems.
