I'm just getting into vinyl and am heading to the Boston show next month. Any stores that are worthy of me checking out record wise as well as apparel, posters and the works?

  • For a city that has so much music history and so many great places to catch a live show, Boston is remarkably void of good record shops.

Newbury is cool, and there are two that I know of. One isn't that far from Fenway and the other is in Quincy Market/F Hall. I've had more luck finding rare/cool stuff at the local near Fenway.

newbury comics used to be better, but on newbury street (coincidentally where newbury comics started) has a few local places that are worth checking out

  • You can check out In Your Ear! on Commonwealth Avenue. It is pretty hit or miss. I don't know if it is still around, but I used to go there frequently during my BU days.

Yeah, it's still there and I go there about once a month. I usually score some great LP's for about $1 or $2. Nuggets on Comm Ave near the Hotel Commonwealth is also worth checking out.

Not in Boston proper, but worth the trip up to the Witch city of Salem, the Record Exchange.
