Madison could sell out. People from Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis would come. And yes, there is much drinking! That's why Eddie and the guys should definitely get their rocking asses here! Some of us are nice drunks. Not like the guy at Ed's solo show in Milwaukee. Please play Alpine for the outdoorsy-ness!

technically anywhere could sell out ... we can play guessing games all day

my point is... in this economy and you can't guarantee anything and boston is a prime example of that

i do think it has to do with it being a monday... as well as prices... but prices haven't affected NYC... or Philly last year

boston is always considered top 10... if not top 5... for PJ cities

and 1 show isn't even getting filled

I would go to a concert in Madison, but if it was anywhere in Wisconsin, my first choice would be Alpine. I don't see much of a draw to bring the band to Madison over Alpine. Madison if in the Kohl center is inside. Alpine outdoor and beautiful. Alpine is also much closer to Chicago and Milwaukee. They will choose Alpine way before Madison as long as it's in the summer.

I am also curious as to why Alpine "didn't work out for one way or another" as Ed said at the August night 1 show in Chicago.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side

Pearl Jam HAS played Madison before. I saw them in March of 1992 at the R&R Station (an old club on Park St. that is now a train over pass and a UW buiding.)

Pink Floyd and U2 have played Camp Randall before. I think Pearl Jam would do well there. They wouldn't sell it out, but they sure would fill the place up pretty well.

I don't know how much Nickelback tix cost (and you do realize that Nickelback is more "popular" sales-wise/radio play wise than PJ), but Kansas City appears to be pretty full. The only lower level seats that come up on TM are in the section farthest from the stage in the back, row 29. Let's think about this; you're not a huge Pearl jam fan, to the point where you wait until tickets have been on sale for a few weeks before you get around to buying them. The tickets that come up are essentially in the BACK of the arena, almost as far as you can be from seeing the band on stage. The tickets cost over $80 with service charges. Are you going to buy $80+ tickets to sit in the back of an arena to see a band who you didn't care enough to buy tickets for until NOW? Probably not.

Kansas City will be plenty full if not sold out. Touringfans has a lot of 10C members attending it. I was at the 03 tour opener in Denver. It wasn't sold out either, but it was pretty packed. No one will notice or care, and the band will make a profit and not look at the midwest as a total loss just because it didn't sell out the first day of sales like MSG etc....
