For the love of God, please make links open in a new window!

OK, maybe a tad dramatic. But this has always been my pet peeve about the forums. Everytime I click a link to an outside page, I have to click Back to get back to the forums. This is the only forum I read that has this issue. Please admins, tell your webmaster to change this, for the love of all that is holy!!!

If you right click and select : open in new tab OR open in new window you can avoid this.

However, if you press alt + f4 on your keyboard you can temporarily format the webpage so that you don't have to right click...

You can also middle click if you have a mouse wheel, but the point is you shouldn't have to.
At this stage links opening in a separate tab is a basic point in web design that should always be followed.
    It really bugs me too.

  • That would be nice, but remember all those months when member profiles were not viewable? I think this forum has a lot of issues.

The pet mouse forum I visit uses the same format. It opens links in tabs. BUT it also has a microscopic percentage of this forum's users!

If you press shift at the same time as clicking the link, it will open up in a new window. :D

Hey thanks for that (although I still think they should fix it) but I also just noticed that if I hold ALT while clicking it opens in a new tab.

Click in the middle of your mouse on the link or press ctrl + left click on the link.

I've noticed that Firefox has removed right-clicking for a number of things I used to used it for, but now if I click-and-hold on a link, and drag it to the tabs bar above, it automatically opens it in a new tab.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)
