What do you people think of this album?
I always read negative comments about it.
I must admit it is one NIN album that I didn't like immediately, I think the more I listen the more it grows on me, having said that I am giving it more listens.

I love NIN and this is my favorite album by them. Absolutely perfect album. I wish Trent and Co. would tour and play it front to back. That would be so awesome.

I think the Fragile is very underrated.
Drop, drop, dropping it down...oh, so gently...

The Fragile has been my favorite NIN album since the day it was released. I think the album had a lot to live up to in a lot of fans eyes coming off (albeit 5 years later) TDS, and this is one of the reasons it seems to get a bad rap. I loved it and still love it.

The Fragile is immense. The left side is maybe the best disc NIN have ever made, and the right side ain't bad either.
And I planted my bolo knife in the neck of mad John Finn. I took his wretched life.
Now I'm over near the bandstand, every hand moving on John Finn's wife...

this is probably my most favorite album of the past 20 years. i can listen to it on repeat, non-stop for an eternity. it's a freakin' masterpiece and never gets the love that it deserves (except from me, of course).

Probably my favourite NIN record, the opeing six songs on the first (left) disc are incredible.

the first time i listened to this cd was when i was talking an art class last summer. i listened to the entire thing through, every single day for three weeks. for some reason, the fragile and oil painting was one of the coolest experiences ever. it really helped my creative juices. i suggest everyone tries it.

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

If I was only allowed to listen to one album for the rest of my life, it would be The Fragile. Truly amazing album!

It's probably the best double album released in the 90's.

I am not a huge NIN fan, but this album is gold. Trent Reznor is really a great writer

I leterally listen to this album everyday, seriously. My ipod for the gym only has NIN on it and I find myself listening to theFragile more than most albums on it. My car cd player has the left disc in it right now....blah, blah, blah, I LOVE IT!!

It is very complex, and you really do have to listen to it a lot of times to process it. I STILL hear new things when I play it. That intro and buildup in Somewhat Damaged is one of the best things ever.

I really like it, but it suffers a bit from "double album syndrome" in that some of it sounds undeveloped. However, if you add up all of the great songs you have one hell of a good record.

And it tends to get dissed but I liked Starfuckers for the comic relief.

The left cd has really got me hooked, such great art, listening to it now.
Still need more time with the right disc.

"La Mer" segueing into "Into the Void" is one of the best live moments ever.

Geez, I'm not seeing any of these "negative comments" the OP mentioned.. I have to admit I never quite got this album, and I like NIN. It always just seemed a little too epic (in the actual sense of the word, not the trendy bastardization). It seems too spread out. Too much atmosphere and not enough music.

I don't know, guess I'll have to give it another shot. Maybe it'll click.

Fantastic album. The opening song is so intense. Can't believe it's been 10+ years since I bought it!

  • I didn't get to listen to this song when it first came out but I did pick it up a couple years ago and was hooked from the start. To this day it is one of the best records in my collection...it is simply phenomenal in my opinion and it's a crime that it didn't do better.

Everything Trent does is awesome and true art.
I haven't given Ghosts a listen, any good?
I know it is just instrumentals.

Some of it is good; it's a hard album to really take in and enjoy, though. My favorite is "13 Ghosts II," it's a very simple piano melody but it works excellently.

I much prefer the Left Side to the Right Side of The Fragile.

This is an album of substance and imagery, it amazes me how you can listen to song after song and feel like a movie is being played to you. Such a stunning work with layers and layers of sounds! After 10 years there's always new stuff to discover.

And it's not my favorite NIN album!
