Wind Song

the wind picked up
moving cotton shaped animals across the sky
and bringing tears to their eyes
the chill in the air belonged to them
and only to them

he smiled at her and asked if she could hear the song
she closed her eyes, tilting back her head
and smiled that beautiful smile
if she tried hard enough, she could hear
the angels soft voice’s travel across the sea

for a precious few moments
they were surrounded by the sounds of heaven

the lightning hit the water just off shore
he opened his eyes to a dark sky
he could smell the electric ozone burning
he turned to take her hand
and she was gone

much time has passed
but when the wind beats against his skin
he closes his eyes to hear the angels sing again
never to hear a note and knowing
that it was a concert meant for two
Peace, Love.

  • You are amazing. I love the way you write and how you're able to make what you say come alive inside my mind. Your imagery is beautiful, and you are really a true artist. Keep it up, I love reading your stuff.
