I walk around at night
Searching, staring
Where is Mars?
You promised me Mars

Endless prowls
Empty howls
Who knew that the black hole
of the milky way
Swallowed by the skies
Was here all along
Behind blue eyes?

OK Pat, I'll buy an e
Why is it all so bleak?

Now I'm just fishing
Floundering
Flapping around on dry land
All this oxygen choking me
Swirling
down
the
drain
The labyrinth that has become my brain
fuck 'em if they can't take a joke

"what a long, strange trip it's been"

After reading it again, I also like

    "All this oxygen choking me"

    a whole bunch too.

pretty wicked visual I have when reading that line.

    thanks for posting.

    i enjoy the word labyrinth.
i agree the mind can become quite labyrinth like.
    "fucked" if you will.
    but beautiful.
    a train wreck of thought.
    lost.

    well done.

    Thanks, all
Again, this was written 7-8 years ago during my dark time
I cannot seem to put good and happy feelings on paper without sounding all hallmarky and mushy. I've tried.
    Again, thanks y'all
