as i lay my head, i find myself
anticipating another day of repetitions
the tv drones, and my fan hums
the white noise of my existence

its just a phase
they all say
youll find fulfillment
one of these days

my future spirals
into a point of convergence
but i dont want a destination

just an escape
from this routine
so that the next time
that my soul stirs
its not so tempted
to sink back into this slumber
