Life Wasted song meaning

Okay boys and girls...here is a question for you all. This evening I was playing Trivial Pursuit with my wife and a few of our friends. A Pearl Jam question came up and everyone looked to me for the answer, but unfortunately I drew a blank. The song "Life Wasted"...according to this game... was written about Johnny Ramone? Could've fooled me! I knew Eddie was close to Johnny and perhaps I completely misunderstood the meaning of the song but I really never thought it was written about...or for Johnny Ramone! Anybody out there with some info?

    I think I read somewhere EV wrote it after or on way home from J Ramones funeral. ???

    Man, I am not sure. I think it was written around the time of his death though.

    I bet you felt bad after everyone turned to the Pearl Jam "knower of knowers, prognosticator of prognosticators" only to be let down... it has happened to me before, with cranium though.

    'inspired by' would have been a better choice of words.

    Yep, I too have read it's apprently about the Ramones guy who dies, or inspired by the death or something....

    Yup, heard the same thing. EV did some interview where he said he was returning from a funeral of a friend (didn't say who the friend was) and it hit him how much his friend missed. Reflective moment to approach his own life differently and sieze the moment.
