Nice set list, lucky also to have seen Pearl Jam with Dave Abbruzzese playing drums.
That show is the reason I'm still here.
I was still in high school and Pearl Jam was pretty much the center of my life for music in high school. I was depressed I got shut out of tickets. To make it even worse, one of my friends, who liked PJ, but wasnt a die hard like me, got two tickets and brought his girlfriend instead of me. I was really really upset. :evil:
Until Philly Halloween 09, Springfield 94 was the last time PJ had played Out Of My Mind. Man, it still bothers me to this day that I didnt go to that show. A Pearl Jam show right in my back yard.And they have never been back. For obvious reasons. Little did I know at the time that I wouldnt end up seeing them until 4 years later at Madison Square Garden night 2 1998 (Breathe show).
I had a chance in 96 to see them at Hartford again, but the same thing basically happened to me like Springfield 94. It was hard in the early days, though I was a huge fan, for me to see them. I was in high school and I was dependent on so many things to make it possible to even go to a concert.
I guess the disappointment of getting shut out for a few years from not seeing them really stuck with me because i've only missed a handful pf New England, NYC & Philly shows since 98. And cant wait for Boston, Hartford & NYC next month!!
Eddie Vedder solo: 2008 - Boston night 1 & 2 || 2009 - Albany, NY night 1 & 2 || 2011 - Hartford, CT, Boston, MA
p.s. nobody gets "shut out". you guys shut yourselves out. tickets are there for the taking up until showtime outside all over the place when worse comes to worst.
