people are just too sensitive

I'm sure most of you have seen this by now, but figured I'd get your opinion.

On Sunday night at Opening Night at Fenway, 5 yr old Joshua Sacco recited a monologue from the movie Miracle where Kurt Russell inspires the 1980 US Olympic hockey team to beat the Russians. He changed the teams and sport but pretty much nailed this and for me was very cool to watch on TV. My wife and I were laughing and clapping while we watched as we were entertained.

This morning on the local Boston news, people seemed to be offended that the Red Sox allowed a 5 year old to say "Screw em" on national TV at a baseball park. I think people need to lighten up and find a real topic to get upset about.

Below is the link off youtube and an article from todays Herald.

For the Boston area I think we should be MORE worried about bullies in school than a 5 year old saying *screw em*. I was suprised he said such words but I think it was done in fun of Opening Day against a rival
    World Championship team.

BTW what did the Yankees think of this and the NY area in general? I would think they maybe more offended by this than anyone else.

I'm a season ticket holder for the Nashville Predators and this kid has done this a few times this year before games. I haven't heard one person in Tennessee bitch about what he said in his skit. Maybe the hockey crowds are less sensitive about such things.

I agree youngster, people need to really think about what they are or are not going to make a fuss about. This is ridiculous. In all honesty, it could've been much more offensive.

I agree that they should have changed the "screw em" line for the kid.
They should have had the kid say "fuck em!" instead.

I feel sorry for people who get so worked up about shit like this. Imagine being upset by this, and what your life must be like where something like this is important to you.

Well personally I wouldn't like my 5yo to say screw em, but considering the vast array of more colourful and really offensive and vulgar explicitives that people seem to use in the presence of kids these days, screw em is pretty mild.

Oh boy, lighten up people... I've seen the kid do the speech a few times, and it's pretty funny.

I bet if you sat in his seats at a Red Sox game, you'd hear FAR worse stuff around you several times during the game.

I'll be honest, since Sunday night I've watched this video about 300 times. My favorite is Dice-K cracking up in the dugout.

Thats just because when he said "Screw em", DaySooKee thought he said the japanese phrase "Skrou yum" meaning "get paid for doing nothing".
