Letting go

Stood, in static surrender
exhausted
from digging through memories
that had turned hands into shovels...

first floor down

... a childhood
spent licking lies from open mouths
baking innocence into cakes
that tasted of loss
trapped, with mother natures gift of... trust.

dig dig

... an adolescence
spent with uncomfortable companions
hanging
on the noose of promises
trapped, with an ever growing need to... trust.

dig dig dig

... an adult
a concept, rejected fiercely
by an unwillingness
to
feed hungry babies with lies
to
fold young flesh in knotted promises
to... trust
and let it go.
Pepper- I am faith without religion, without bruised knees and pleas for forgiveness...

    I am digging this!
(and not because of the title)
Actually I wrote something I call "Letting Go" during my dark period. I may "dig" it out someday.
