The Moon years were the best. I was privileged to see The Who while Keith was still alive.
I've always liked the way he and Pete played together, watching each other and so in sync. In one of his solo shows at La Jolla in 2001 Pete says he called Keith his Right Hand Man because he was always looking to him when they performed.
Pete plays a lot like that now with Zak Starkey, the only drummer whose playing has captured anything close to the intensity of Keith's.
I haven't watched Amazing Journey in a long time. That clip makes me want to go back and look at it again.
He was the sole reason I saved up my pathetic paychecks when I was 14 and bought a drum set.

My favourite drummer of all time. Though I'd rather jam with Bonham.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

 luck you!!
I dont think Zak is good.. but oh well.
Zak can't match Keith (who could?) but he doesn't pretend to either. But I really like to watch him and Pete on stage. The way they play together reminds me of Pete and Keith.

I vaguely remember an interview with Roger Daltrey in the early 90's where he claimed Keith taught Zak how to play the drums (rather than Zak's father, Ringo Star)

Um, anyone else know if this was the case?
Dunno about lessons but Keith gave Zak his first drum kit.

Neil Peart speaks on his dream drum kit design which was inspired by Keith Moon's kit when Neil was a kid starting out playing. Just simply beautiful.

Keith Moon was the greatest!
The Who died with him.
