River's the room we're in
swallowing gallons upon gallons
we're goldfish planning ahead
drowning our deepest fears
hiding behind ornaments
sucking the bottom
ever so shining in our skin
ever so magnificent in our appearance
thrilling to feed and easy to forget
breathing thru a plastic tube
having the big perspective
served morning, night and day
going places
going nowhere
none
seemingly narcissistic
squeezing a smile
from behind a green something
at anybody listening.
"Here's a token of my openness..."
