I've always like this band but had never really owned any albums. I dont think they get the proper attention that they deserve... such a rockin band. I bought 'Shine On' and love that album. You can hear a lot of Beatles influence in my opinion. Just wondering if their are any other fans out there and if so, recommendations of other albums I should check out. thx

  • Jet is a good band...they only have 3 albums, so there's not too much else for you to choose from. The first album, Get Born, had a lot of AC/DC influence on it, as well as their most popular tunes. They definitely began to branch out on Shine On, and continue to expand their sound on Shaka Rock. Shaka Rock has some really fun tracks.

I loved their first album, Get Born. Shine on was bit of a disappointment for me. Shasta Rock was pretty decent though, only listened to it a few times.

I own the first album and love it but when I heard the newer stuff it just wasn't what I was into. The first album is great. The artwork reminded me of the Beatles Revolver album.

fanch75 may not come around as much as he used to, but he is a big fan. you can tell because he always types the name in all caps - JET.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

I absolutely love Get Born and Shine On.

Both have some real kick-ass stuff and some easier-on-the-ears music. The song "Lazy Gun" off Get Born is probably what I consider to be Jet's best song.

They also have a pretty cool little track out there on iTunes and whatnot called "Sgt. Major." If you like Jet, I recommend picking it up...can't be found on any album...

As a band, they used to be one of my top 3 current bands, but I really dislike the direction they've taken with Shaka Rock. Hopefully their next album (they tend to realease a new album every 3 years or so) is alot better.

...but, yeah...I'd like to consider myself a Jet fan. It's nice to see them getting some love from the board here.

Thought they broke up or were on hiatus or something. Wasn't expecting to hear to new Jet songs.

Think they’re playing a festival here in Australia later this year or early next year? Good Things Festival? Can’t quite remember the name. Interesting bill that includes Korn, Sum41, Violent Femmes and Billy Corgan.
