How many close friends

Would say you have? I'm speaking to those that are older. How many people that are not directly related to you, do you consider family?

Just curious....

    Ah... three people. None from childhood.

    Taking this question into the PJ realm... I have 9 Pearl Jam albums that I consider family! 18 if you count the vinyl as well, heh.

    I'll bite, even though this thread should be in AET.
    About 5....I have a lot of casual "friends", but only about 5 (maybe 6) people who *really* know me well and who I could trust with anything.

    4, including one from high school, which was a long time ago now. That's it though....lots of friends and people I know, but only a few really close people.

    3 people that I would trust my life with. My father always said growing up (when I hung around with 30 or so different kids) that you could count your true friends on one hand, I always thought he was full of shit. Now that I am almost 30, he was right. All those kids I hung around with have fallen by the wayside and now I have 3 true friends that come hell or high water I know will stick by me and vice versa till the end.

    I would say 3. I've known one of them since my first year of high school and am currently roommates with her in our last year of university. Since moving six hours away from home for school, I haven't really stayed close with friends from earlier in my life. I still have some high school friends back home, but none I would consider "close" any longer.

    And my sister calls me a loser for not having heaps of friends.

    I tell my children consider yourself lucky if you have one close friend for life, that friend is precious.

    I would say 2 who I know I can count on no matter what.
    One is the most important and wonderful girl in the world....I like to say we are teammates because we do depend upon each other so much for all kinds of support. It is simply the most meaningful and special relationship I have ever. She made me realize that I actually am capable of loving and caring for someone unconditionally.
    The second one my not county because it is my cousin. We have always been more of friends though. That guy more than other of my other buddies would do whatever he could for me.
    I still have a connection with several old friends, but none who I believe I could count on in the way I could those two.
    All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

    They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

    It's bullshit that you're a loser just because you dont have heaps of friends. I only have a few close friends, but I dont consider myself to be a loser because of that reason! Some went overseas (years ago, before texting and emailing) and we lost touch, one or two died, some moved away, tell your sister to go jump cos she's barking up the wrong tree. You can't measure yourself by the number of friends you have.
