I'm going for a week at the end of May. Are there things I have to see when I'm there? Is it expensive?

Any info is appreciated!

    prague is unreal!
i studied there for 6 weeks back in 2005.
    loved it!

go to the jewish quarter, go to the old city. walk around the center of the city.....everything is just breath-takingly beautiful! there are some wonderful pubs and restaurants.....explore and enjoy!
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • I was there about 7 years ago. At that time it was very cheap, especially the food and lodging. I was only there a couple days so I just saw the main attractions - Charles Bridge, Prague Castle/St. Vitus Cathedral, Wenceslas Square, Old Town, the Astronomical Clock. All of the above are worth checking out and within easy walking distance. I was amazed at the architecture, especially some of the Gothic and Baroque style buildings. You could pick any church on either side of the river, go inside and be amazed. Not everyone speaks English so there's a bit of a language barrier, but it wasn't really a problem. If you speak some German that can be helpful. I'm sure you'll love it. Have a great time.

Yup, about 5 years ago, adored it! One of my fave places ever. Everybody else mentioned the best things to see, just soak in all the gorgeous architecture and history, yum!

I love the place, it is amazing!
I would advise going to all the usual tourist places mentioned - defo the castle and jewish quarter, spending time in the old square, walking down the river, across Charles Bridge, and if you have time for a trip out of the city go to Kutna Hora, it is a church of bones.. bizarre, spooky and wierd but interesting http://www.outsideprague.com/kutna_hora/bone_church.html

I would recommend wearing very good shoes..the cobbles can hurt your feet after a while, and look up...the architecture above you is stunning!

Thanks guys, this is all very helpful.

I was going to go in 2006 for the Pearl Jam show but it fell through at the last minute. I'm going to make sure I see as much as possible. We're going for 7 days so should have plenty of time.

I saw that there is a Sex Machines museum. Looks very bizarre! Anyone been?

it can be pricey, but just eat and drink away from the touristy bits, and the price halves. you only have to go a street away! 8-)

Was cheap in 1999. Don't think that is the case now. Here is my travelogue from 10 years ago.
