Back when I was 12, on 9/29/04, I was sitting doing homework and listen to my dad frantically find someone to go this concert. So then he asks me if I want to go because he couldn't find anybody. So I was like 'YEAH!'. A t the time I knew like 4 PJ songs :o. We arrived at the Fleet Center around 530. My dad got a beer and i got a coke. Then we saw this guy walking around and my dad goes "Ithink thats Howard Zinn" So we decide to become stalkers and start following him around. He walked around the building 4 times! just walking?? so then we get to our seats and then my dad goes "Looks like Eddie's doing an opener" Sure enough there he is playing 'I Am A Patriot'. Then after that happens, DCFC takes the stage and my dad is like "ehh lets go get a poster" so then we get in line, then sure enough they sell out. We get back to our seats as PJ takes the stage and the guy next to me is floored at the fact that i'm only 12. So then he asks me what my favorite song is.(Granted I only 4 :o) I say Do The Evolution. He says 'alright litle dude' Then Pearl Jam kicks the night off with a powerfull version of 'Go' then into 'Animal'. Then DTE comes on and i'm jumping up and down singing along.:D Then 'Save You' comes on. It was good version. nothing to special. 'American In Me' is the next song. Then 'Immortality' comes on and my section went BALISTIC! I remember my section overpowering Eddie most of the night. The next song is 'Wishlist'. INSANE!! A guy in the front row asked his GF to marry her during this song. So Eddie kicked in a little improvisition.

"I wish i was a preacher man..
You could get married right here instead of anywhere else..
You wouldn't believe the shit that goes on in the front row"

he then added some political shit.

They play Grievance next. nothing too special. Then they break out 'Alone' and I thought my section was gonna shit themselves :p They were going nuts. 'Present Tense' is the next one they pull out of a hat. Then they do Corduroy with Ed saying that this was Johnny's favorite song. Then they do Miracles and Once to end the first set.

Part 2, tomorrow

  • Luv the story so far. Went to alot cool shows with my Dad when I was a kid. I am extremely grateful to him for passing onto me the appreciation of music.
    PJ FANS ROCK!!!

Finally got that "One for the Thumb"!!! Got the "Six Pack". Now we're on a "Stairway to Seven"

Some words when spoken...can't be taken back.

Great show. My first front row PJ show. AND Ed gave me a tambourine. Awesome. Glad we all had a good time.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.
