It is pretty serious stuff... starting threads I mean, not the environment. The "environment" is the biggest hoax since sasquatch; I'm certain neither of them even exist.

Hmm... I'm taking an environmental health class right now. We're discussing overpopulation & overconsumption, water scarcity & pollution, air pollution, radiation & radon testing & uranium mining (of particular importance in this part of the country), etc.

But maybe canoegirl had something else in mind?

Yeah, I mean she starts this highly contentious thread and then just vanishes. Then again, canoes are prone to tipping over... I hope she's ok.

A pretty sweeping statement I know but I fully believe if everyone read A Language Older Than Words we would start to come out of denial collectively and make real change. Oh well, just have to do it person by person>

George Washington Hayduke - A fictional character in Edward Abbey's novels The Monkey Wrench Gang[1]and Hayduke Lives![2] Hayduke is an ex-Green Beret, one-time explosives expert and medical assistant to the Viet Cong, and an American environmentalist hero.

Hayduke is based on Douglas Peacock - a real person with several fine books in his own right. Great man that I have met. Hayduke doesn't fuck around, or wait for politicians to get off their collective asses; he takes care of shit his own way.

so i watched the little programs on stuff, which i've been practicing for sometime now and i imagine many others are aswell, ugh i hope, and the bottled water program was educational, i wonder if any schools in this country have had the guts to show this to students in the class rooms? and does anyone out there ever wonder where all of this electriCITY that is being generated by the wind turbines in the countryside is going ? and why is it that the wind turbines are not being utilized in such a way as our water plants are, for that actual area ? funny yet sick side thought perhaps one day they will put wind turbines on the tops of the mountains of debris in india and send the electricity to china so they can make us more stuff, omg i need to stop, lol, sorry if i offended anyone and its late so excuse me spelling ;)
