Daughter - Live Version

I have to admit that Daughter, although very popular, isn't one of my personal favorite PJ songs....
I was just listening to some of my boots getting geared up for the upcoming MSG shows and at the end of Daughter, Ed sometimes brings in lyrics from other non-PJ songs. While listening to the Hartford (6-27-08) boot, Ed started singing the lyrics from Pink Floyd's The Wall.
Why does Ed do this? Is there any significance?

They're called Daughter tags. It's probably just a way for Ed to improv some lyrics that he wants to improv with, or somethign that is relevant to what's going on in the world or something that he (or the band entirely) wants to voice their opinion about. For example, take the version of Daughter from the Showbox with Ed's intense tag of "War" on the end of it...
