A friend of mine and I were talking about this and I felt who else better to share this with than random PJ fans.
Which PJ album (Lost Dogs excluded) would have the best flow, worst flow, most dramatic changes if the tracks were completeley reversed.

Ex: TEN
1. Release
2. Deep
3. Garden
4. Porch
5. Oceans
6. Jeremy
7. Black
8. Why Go
9. Alive
10. Evenflow
11. Once

Vs.
1.Indifference
2. Leash
3. Small Town
4. Rats
5. RVM
6. Blood
7. WMA
8. Dissident
9. Glorified G
10. Daughter
11. Animal
12. Go

Vitology- Exclude foxy if you want

1. Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me
2. Immortality
3. Aye Davanita
4. Better Man
5. Satan's Bed
6. Bugs
7. Corduroy
8. Pry, To
9. Whipping
10. Nothingman
11. Tremor Christ
12 Not For You
13. Spin The Black Circle
14 Last Exit

No Code
1. Around The Bend
2. I'm Open
3. Mankind
4. Present Tense
5. Lukin
6. Red Mosquito
7. Habit
8. Off He Goes
9. Smile
10. In My Tree
11. Who You Are
12. Hail, Hail
13.Sometimes

I don't want to write all their albums cause its too much time but if you post it Ill add it. Interested to see what people think of opening Vitology with Foxy Mop etc.
Nothing but thanks for those willing to give of their soul to a stranger. And I hate to say it but The Who are overated.

I would have to go with No Code as being the best.. Pretty much because I think Around The bend would be a Good first track and Sometimes would make an okay last track.

I think Avocado would be really weird backwards. Opening with Inside Job?
I think Ten might suffer the least just because Release is used as an opener at shows, the album would be considerably back heavy though.
Go wouldn't work as a closing song, its too fast paced and my mind would automatically want Animal to be played right afterwords.
    32 shows and counting...

I agree about Go, but that would be a trip to close on that song.

I would have to say Riot Act. Not necessarily because the tracklisting would be better backwards... mostly because it would be the least bad backwards tracklisting of all the nine albums. I guess I could see "Can't Keep" being a closer. This thread proves we love Pearl Jam too much!

By the way, I love how Pearl Jam sequences their albums.

No code would be the best backwards. They both start and end slow. Plus it's pretty mellow from beginning to end anyway.

I agree Vitalogy would be great and it would be an awesome finish with Last Exit!

No Code would be cool... It would get HailHail out of that horrible placement and the album would just gather steam.

They would work, but it would change the vibe of alotta them, especially if you listen to the whole album.
  • i can say that yield would probably be the worst (and its my favorite album). all those yesterdays as an opener, brain of J to close? doesnt feel right

my vote is for merkinball :D

I kill my ears everytime after Sometimes, the volume increase is insane.

I'll have to go with No Code also. It would probably flow the best backwards in comparison to how the other albums would be.
