I did come up with that on my own actually..... Upon further research they did open w/ Arc in 2003, but did not go straight into Breakerfall I don't believe. Would be killer!!!
and love, what a different life had I not had this love with you.
have they ever done Sometimes/Hail Hail or Brain of J/Faithfull? either one would rock
They do sometimes alot, and yes it does rock, hail hail i'm not sure but they do play it like 2nd or 3rd alot so i'm guessing they have before, faithfull I don't think so but it would be great.
But actually for one of the MSG nights I'm not hoping for any out-of-the-ordinary openers- I would really love to hear Long Road!

Agreed, it opened my first PJ last year in LA and that is when I really fell in love with it.
I still haven't heard Go so that would be THE best opener, how can you not get fired up hearing that song. Another reason why I love Vs. so much.

Sure did - the last time I saw them, back in the olden days (Auckland '98) they opened with Sometimes/Hail Hail... and then went straight into Brain of J/Faithfull.
Sadly, I'm yet to find a bootleg
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
Every time the slower opening songs led into a blast of 4-5 uptempo numbers.

So I guess Pearl jam almost always opens every so often with the songs that are the 1st track on an album, Once, go, last exit, sometimes, brain of j, breakerfall, can't keep, life wasted, and gonna see my friend (all awesome btw)
When Backspacer was released i kind of assumed Unthought Known would become a standard opener. Hasn't happened yet.
Still waiting for Free Jazz>Last Exit as well
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Don't know how serious you are but that would be awesome, the 1st time I hear my favorite song live would be to open the show
