Pearl Jam played at the Target annual managers meeting?

Did anybody hear of this? Any of you there? Wonder what they played? 1 or 2 songs or so? At the company I work for, a few years back, Tony Bennett did 5-6 songs at a large meeting we had. So I know this kind of thing happens. The Tony Bennett thing was actually very cool.

Those publicity-shy folks at Target world headquarters in downtown Minneapolis didn't send out any press releases to let the world know about their annual managers meeting Tuesday at the half-full Target Center. It seems that Target flexed its musical muscle and landed Lady Antebellum, Nick Jonas & the Administration, Michael Buble, Norah Jones and Pearl Jam to give cameo performances during the afternoon. (Just think, that jet-setting Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Monday night in New York singing with the Stooges.) Mixed in amongst all the music at the private event were actor Tim Allen and Winter Olympics god Shaun White, who had done his snowboard bit at a similar Target managers meeting in 2006. No word if any of these A-list stars received Target gift cards as loving parting gifts.

    Thanks, sounds cool. I'm sure all the pros and cons were hashed out in that thread. My attendance has been spotty lately as my busiest time of year is this time of year. Thanks for letting me know.

    I actually took a tour of the Target Corporate Headquarters in Minneapolis yesterday. I talked with some workers about the show and they said that they always get performances from artists that have an exclusive distribution contract with Target; it may have been a condition in their contract when they released backspacer. They also had a framed backspacer gold record in their entertainment department offices, hopefully that becomes platinum at some point.
