The best wings in Buffalo — or anywhere

The Anchor Bar invented the Buffalo style chicken wing...so saying that they don't have the best "Buffalo Style Chicken Wings" is like saying that: "Pearl Jam doesn't play the best Pearl Jam style music".0

hahaha I love that.
Duffs is the best, though.0 -

Just because one invents something doesn't mean his or her invention can't be improved on. What you're saying is akin to saying the Model T is the best car — simply because it was invented — and that doesn't make sense.0 -

It's called the Anchor Bar - Duffs is supposed to be great also.PEARL JAM - It's what's for breakfast

Was at Duff's on friday night...absolutely fabulous winds...i would highly recommend them even though they are a little out of teh way from HSBC arena
located at Sheridan and Millersport.
Also highly recommended: Dino's Bocce Club Pizza @ 4174 North Bailey Avenue...the best pie in Buffalo, delivery and take out only.

DUFF's hands down. Used to make trips in college from Ithaca to Buffalo just for DUFF's wings. (and a night of drinking i'm sure @ pj bottoms or the steer or down on chippewa st).
there's also a dinosaur bbq in rochester... and one in harlem ny (<- but nowhere near msg)i am a rhinosaurus and my skin is three feet thick0 -
I am simply replying to this because I want it in my history so that when I get in Buffalo i can reference this and decide where to eat. I neeeeds me some Buffalo wings0

If you are looking for a quick lunch or something, you must go to Mighty Taco.
If you are serious about getting the best wings, go to Duff's, or the previously mentioned Gabriel's Gate.
Roast Beef on Weck with Horseradish is also good and I believe it is served where a lot of us will be partying (Pearl Street Grill and Brewery)0 -
I love Mighty Taco. Also, Go to Anderson's for the best Roast Beef Sandwich and Soft Serve ever.
One note about Buffalo Style Pizza. IT FREAKIN SUCKS. I'm sorry. I love Buffalo and all it has to offer but the pizza pie is sub-par. I'm not sure I feel this way because of my Chicago-bias but stick to the wings.
On another note, try the Buffalo Strip sub. You can usually order at any joint there. Pretty damn tasty.0 -
my mouth is watering from this thread!!

buffalo wings are my favorite food and this is my first time to buffalo
i was thinking anchor bar for obvious reasons but after being to philly a few times i've learned you listen to the locals
so... my question is
are any of these places open AFTER the show?
i get into town around 11 and will be going somewhere for lunch of wings
then after that it's to the hotel... then to the preparty... then the show
so i only have lunch ... assuming the preparty is at some bar where i'll just be getting whatever
where do i go??

Chicago bias. Rightfully so though.
I think Buffalo has great pizza. Nowhere near the level of Chicago or say NY.... but it is a few notches above anywhere else I have lived.0 -
I don't know. It's really hit or miss. You get some places that can do it right, and then some places that have one thing wrong, and it'll ruin the whole pizza for you.0
-
I Just went there yesterday, and have been going for about 20 years, and I will always stand by..
DUFFSLife has nothing to do with killing time.
So why be satisfied?0 -
I think Buffalos pizza taste and texture is in the middle (and location:) of Chicago and NY style not to thin not to heavy.. like em both but prefer buffalo, next to NY style.MayDay10 wrote:Davidtrios wrote:

I just called Duff's for you and they close 11pm Monday-Thurs...trying going before the show. It's in one of the safest neighborhoods in the US, Amherst NY (and it where i was born)
According to Wiki:
Crime in Amherst
Based on statistics reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Amherst has frequently been ranked as the Safest City in America (1996–1998, 2000–2003); many other years it ranks within the Top 5. The designation is based on crime statistics for the year in six categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and auto theft. In 2006, Amherst was ranked the second safest city in the United States, after Brick Township, New Jersey[6]. In 2008, it dropped to 7th place[7].0 -
There's also one in a small suburb about twenty minutes away called Orchard Park. They're also very safe, bt the people there have their heads so far up their asses it's not even worth it.0
