One note about Buffalo Style Pizza. IT FREAKIN SUCKS. I'm sorry. I love Buffalo and all it has to offer but the pizza pie is sub-par. I'm not sure I feel this way because of my Chicago-bias but stick to the wings.

    Chicago bias. Rightfully so though.

I think Buffalo has great pizza. Nowhere near the level of Chicago or say NY.... but it is a few notches above anywhere else I have lived.

I don't know. It's really hit or miss. You get some places that can do it right, and then some places that have one thing wrong, and it'll ruin the whole pizza for you.

I Just went there yesterday, and have been going for about 20 years, and I will always stand by..

    DUFFS

I think Buffalos pizza taste and texture is in the middle (and location:) of Chicago and NY style not to thin not to heavy.. like em both but prefer buffalo, next to NY style.
Casa Di Pizza , Ninos , Blasdel, and Johns are my Fav....

I love me some buffalo wings and some PJ. If only I could afford to get to Buffalo for this show....that would be a damn good combination.

I just called Duff's for you and they close 11pm Monday-Thurs...trying going before the show. It's in one of the safest neighborhoods in the US, Amherst NY (and it where i was born)

    According to Wiki:

    Crime in Amherst
Based on statistics reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Amherst has frequently been ranked as the Safest City in America (1996–1998, 2000–2003); many other years it ranks within the Top 5. The designation is based on crime statistics for the year in six categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and auto theft. In 2006, Amherst was ranked the second safest city in the United States, after Brick Township, New Jersey[6]. In 2008, it dropped to 7th place[7].

There's also one in a small suburb about twenty minutes away called Orchard Park. They're also very safe, bt the people there have their heads so far up their asses it's not even worth it.

I lived in East Amherst from 1982 to 1987. My family and I went to Duff's and Rootie's all the time!
  • Yes, Duff's has amazing wings, let me say that. No one would make a mistake by going there, and in fact, I recommend the place. If you can have two wings meals in Buffalo, go to both!

The reason I noted La Nova is because its deep-fried, sauced, fire-pitted, resauced, refire-pitted wings are unique. Either place is a great bet. At La Nova, though, one must try either the barbecue or hot-barbecue wings. They're the only ones made as just described — and I do consider them the best wings I've ever had.

Hooters is decent. They're giving away free wings for a year.

Hooters wings are a step above Domino's wings.

If you want good wings, get your own frozen wings, boil them until they float, put them in a fryer, and then follow the recipe on the Pete's hots sauce bottle. Obviously you can add your own spices to it to make it hotter.

It will be cheaper and taste better than 90% of restaurants

I have to say Doc Sullivan's in South Buffalo has the best wings. Hop Inn, also in SB, is behind that.

Wings are good most places in Buffalo, but the best are at Duffs.
