12 Years Ago Today....(cool story bro) (tl;dr)

It was 12 years ago today that my life changed forever. You see, 2 weeks prior to this date 12 years ago, my mother had made me a mixtape. It consisted of my favorite children's songs and a couple Beatles tunes (I was only 7). Now, I was a fan of putting the tape on in the car and turning the volume all the way up while my mom was driving. My mother absolutely hated this music, so to alleviate herself, she included some of her own songs at the end of the mixtape. I can remember VERY clearly walking around in my backyard with my Sony Walkman tape player on when I first hear the song my mom included on the tape, "Given To Fly". Litearlly as soon as I heard the song, I asked my mom what the song was and who it was by. She awared me on Pearl Jam, and ON THIS DAY 12 YEARS AGO, I RECEIVED A CD COPY OF YIELD FOR MY BIRTHDAY :D

That September, she took me to see Pearl Jam at the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford on the 13th. This has come to be known as a legendary show, and I remember most of the night vividly. Now here I am 12 years later, getting ready to see the band 5 times in May :P

So today, on my 19th birthday, a special thanks to my mom, to Pearl Jam, and to all of you guys that make following the band so much better!

    Hey my little fella has just turned 5 and was very disappointed that I wouldn't take him to see PJ last year when he was only 4. But I have given him my old ipod and he told me exactly what stuff he wanted on it. At the top of the list was the boots from brissie concert!!! I've told him next time Pj come to the land of Oz I will most definitley take him. See I'm keeping up the tradition, yet another generation of awesome PJ fans!
