Have bands gotten better at preventing leaks?

this year has about an impressive list of anticipated releases as any year of recent memory. In the next few months we have Broken Social Scene, The national, New Pornographers, Hold Steady, Josh Ritter, Foals, Band of Horses, Black Keys, The Roots, Stars, John Butler Trio, Jakob Dylan, Nas and Damien Marley collaboration, LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, The Walkmen, possibly a new Arcade Fire, who knows maybe even Radiohead late in the year.

But the point is, any of those albums I just listed have an extremely high chance of being the top album of the year, all with be near the top of any of the best albums list for 2010.

Yet, none has leaked. Evidently, The national and New Pornographers albums have been given to the press. Its been over a week since I know for a fact they were sent out to press, as Stereogum listed The national as being one of the albums they were listening to. Yet its not leaked yet.

Even the high profile albums released in the last few months have all been leaked only a few days before the release date, Spoon, Jonsi, Frightened Rabbit, Joanna Newsom, Final Fantasy, Midlake, MGMT, Beach House, Hot Chip, Vampire Weekend, She and Him, Yeasayer. All were among some of the most hotly anticipated of 2010, and all leaked within days of the release.

What is going on? What is causing albums to not leak months and months in advance like they did a few years back? What has caused the press and the plant worker to seemingly turn their back on their past behavior, and not leak, or if they do leak, its 2 days before official release, and not 2 months before release?
