The government is about to point it's gigantic finger at 30 million poor people and say..."you now have health insurance!!....go to the doctor" And they'll be like "but I can't pay for that" Then the government will say "shut up, you have it now, you don't have to pay now..we will talk to the IRS and they'll get the money from you"
I hope you all are ready for preventative health care. All of our medical records are going on-line. So here's the senario...
You open your mailbox and find an official looking envelope from the Fed. The letter reads "The weight that was recorded at your most recent doctor's appointment shows that you are not in the guidelines of the law. Please report to your nearest Department of Fat Control." or "Your urine test shows xxxx, you do not have a prescription for xxxx. Please report to your nearest Department of Drug enforcement" or "Your hearing test shows that you have been listening to Pearl Jam with the volume full"
Get ready for everything you do to be regulated for health purposes.

So much for smokin dope or popping pills
But God Damn It!!!! YOU'RE NOT TAKING AWAY MY PEARL JAM!
yeah, because that's exactly what it's like in countries with REAL socialized medicine
that's what i was going to say lol...
seriously, would it be a bad thing if there was a little prodding or incentivising from the government to get some of these morbidly obese or chronically ill people eating a tad helathier or walking around the block a few times?
i think preventive medicine and actual health education in school health classes would go a long way.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
"How do you know?"
"Because."
"Because why."
"The radio said."
"Have they done anything yet?"
"No...but they're gonna."
"With our thoughts we make the world"
