cracked laundry

dense language
mixed up word chains
is it born out of boredom?
worn-out, habit sets in?
there's disinterest hanging on the line
there are balls on the driving range
spectators in the stands
"What's the score honey?"
who's winning?
isn't everyone losing?
cranky, bored, or desperate
slowly dying from too many complaints
a clogged drain and
a painfully stiff shirt
left hanging on the line too long
dried, hardened, cracked
now even the young fresh laundry is whining:
"I don't like this"
isn't there some way to change the world and renew its spirits?
Isn't there some way to get back to what we do best?
pick it up, turn it around, dust it off
Let's get the good energy flowing because if we don't do it,
no one else is gonna!!
