Solution to stop future codes from leaking

I was pretty bummed to see the presale password to MSG pop up on ebay minutes after getting the email. Pretty low that fellow fanclub members are more concerned with making a buck than for the happiness of a fellow fan. Anyway, my idea to prevent this is to just send the password out an hour or so before the actual presale. Maybe send out an email a day in advance saying that the password will be sent out (to give people time to plan)... But think about it. If people are gonna be able to buy the tickets, they'd be near a computer anyway to check their email. I know this isn't foolproof and I realize that people would still go to ebay regardless, but I think it might cut down on it a lot. Something to think about....

    OP idea works easy
  • i think there was a fan club someone talked about some time ago that would give everyone a specific code, at least i think that's what was going on. that way the code would be meaningless to someone else. i think if the code was given out an hour before people would be very upset that they didn't get it in time or their email was late. plus it doesn't take much time for passwords to be spread around the internet anyway

Ok, so a question about this presale, are the tickets kept at will call as well? Or are they dispersed regularly?

To be fair... people would sell the code and put 'I will email you the code within an hour of the sale' if that's how the TC set it up.

Without unique codes its tough...and otherwise you could just send the email out and say its live, but then people would be upset there was no warning.

It's a tough one - I'm not sure what the best solution is considering that its a short-timeframe presale.

    Emails take time

this runs the risk of someone not getting it

Thus literally is a ticketmaster sale... 10c has nothing to do with it besides setting it up n emailing us
