What is with people asking about what's cool at the venue...these questions will be answered in time, trust me. Like anything else you would bring to a concert, it all depends on how well you conceal it. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the band as well as the venue would discourage the use of video equipment.

I actually don't know what this post is about, but if it's about video equipment in MSG, I'd say bad idea. They pat you down pretty good on the way in. Take it in, enjoy the show for what it is.
When I worked backstage at their first MSG shows, one of PJ's managers was talking to some dude that was taping the show. He had mini microphones on his glasses to record audio and I believe he was video taping the show. He was yelling at PJ's stage manager that the band is ok with him taping. Anyway, PJ's management had me and a security officer escort him out of the building.
...and I assume things have not changed in their policy since then.

Yeah, it's safest not to bring it. I believe the only taping that is officially permitted is handheld small audio recorders. Aside from that, you could get yanked... though with every cell phone taking vids nowadays, it's very hard to enforce.
