Kansas City Question

So I'm flying in the day of the show and flying out right after so I won't be getting a hotel. Can one of you locals tell me what's the best way to get from the airport to the Sprint Center, cab, bus, train? Is this the old Kemper Area or a new place? Thanks.

The venue is a brand new place. The Sprint Center's address is 1407 Grand Boulevard on the east side of the Power & Light District. If I were you, I'd contact the airport for advice on this... I just used Mapquest for you and it looks like it's 19.4 miles from the airport to the venue. Maybe the airport could give you good advice? Maybe there's a free shuttle into downtown or something? I have no idea. Could be a pricey taxi ride... Hopefully you gave yourself ample time to get to and from the show! You do realize the show probably won't end before 11pm, right? Do flights leave that late? Just do some research. Proper prior planning prevents piss-poor performance

Wait til you get downtown to find a good BBQ joint. All the ones by the airport are cheap imitations.

I'll be flying in also, and probably around that time. (I haven't booked a ticket yet as I'm waiting on my travel companion) Maybe we can meet up and share a cab and cut the cost? PM me if you like and we can figure something out. Also, I'm flying in from Denver, so I won't be booing you!

Even easier to take I-29 South to I-35 South.

Show should be good and our tickets should be good. I have great luck in the midwest with seats (as well as the south).
Rent a car and your worries will be over.

The closest, best, bbq spot that I can think of would be Jack Stacks which is around 22nd street (Sprint Center is 13/14).

If you're not up for a little BBQ side trip, just head to the Sprint Center. The Power & Light district is right across the street and it pretty much should have anything and everything you'll need.

Have fun in KC, Go Chiefs!
KC public transportation is not that great. You probably won't be able to easily find a city bus into downtown from the airport. As others have said, just rent a car. It will probably end up being cheaper.
To get real KC BBQ you have to get out of downtown proper and go to Bryant's or Jack Stack. The links are in a post above....
Oh, and go Chiefs!
WORD! I have been a through and through Chiefs fan for 28 years, and i'm only 37. Yaaaaaaaa!
A cab to my house costs about 60 and downtown is 1/3 of the way to the airport so I would guess $45 is about right but have never ridden it.
Everyone who said rent a car for a day may have the best and cheapest idea. You'll pay about 10 for parking a few blocks from the venue. You could also hook up with other 10clubbers to pay for the cost.
As for BBQ:
There is no good BBQ immediately near the Sprint Center
Arthur Bryants is the famous KC place but not my favorite (overrated).
Jack Stack has multiple locations and you would want to go to the one on 22nd which is the Freighthouse area. Jack Stack is a higher end place, not that it is that expensive. It is where I take my family when they come to town for a meal. BBQ can never be that nice, but I hope you get what I mean.
Best place to go is Oklahoma Joe's. The smoke on the meat is phenomenal and the sauce is pretty good. Anthony Bourdain from the Travel Channel said it was one of the 13 places to eat before you die. Mind you this little BBQ joint in a gas station ranks up with restaurants in NYC, Chicago, Tokyo, London, Seattle, Spain, etc.

I love Oklahoma Joe's too (as a native of Oklahoma, it makes me proud)!
It's just a bit further out from downtown, but worth the drive.
