You know, I was giving this album a spin today, and I believe that this baby is my favorite album. I mean, how could it not be? Breakerfall, God's Dice, Light Years, NAIS, Thin Air, Insignificance, Of the Girl, Grievance, Rival, Sleight of Hand, Soon Forget, and Parting Ways...even Evacuation is good to me. How could this album not be everyone's favorite, or at least close to it? Those songs are amazing! and the b-sides from that album, Sad, Education, Fatal...man, they wrote amazing songs during that studio session! Who else agrees with me?

I agree it is a way underrated album thats for sure.......
FATAL -- what a great song..
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
And I'm bored to tears.......

What gives???
Because it isn't constantly telling everyone to fuck off? That is has major soul and feeling???
I love Binaural.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
Yeah, it sounds absolutely amazing through headphones. It's a completely different experience really.
The band was on such a hot streak that this album was harder to appreciate, but Sleight of Hand, Parting Ways, Insignificance, and Grievance are all great songs.
There is no such thing as a bad PJ album even Riot Act was quality.

I think its not a favourite album to the most of the people here cause its not epic at all, its more intimate and dark and its kinda experimental sounding considering the binaural microphones that were used for the recording process...
After Yield people didn't expect something like Binaural that's why it's underrated... just my 2 cents... for me it will always be in TOP 3...
My story with Pearl Jam started exectly with Binaural. I went to CD shop and i liked the cover of the album, looked cool to me and i bought the CD, i was 16 years old at the time. Went home , placed the CD in the player, pushed play and instantly loved it. At first i loved the voice the most , second of all loved the songs, loved all of them , great diversity on the record, sounded unique for me at the time. I remember my favourites were after a couple of listenings: Light Years, Nothing As It Seems, Gods Dice, Thin Air, Breakerfell. Listen after listen, today i cannot say which song off of it i like more, i love all of them.
So after Binaural i read some things on the internet about Pearl Jam that they were very successfull band at the early 90s together with Nirvana and started to buy the other albums, starting with Ten(what a discovery it was), Vitalogy, Yield, No Code, Vs. and that was a hell of a ride for me. What i loved the most about the band was its diversity, i couldn't find 2 songs that sounded alike from all of their albums. Thats one of the reasons i become such a fan of this band.
I would give anything just to experience that same period while i was discovering Pearl Jam ...
