i'm soooo hoping!
would be AWESOME to entirely skip out on the insanity of which is an MSG poster sale.
just hope i manage to be around when they happen!
for the philly shows last year, managed to score for night III, but for night IV, smack dab on THE biggest day of my work busy season...had no chance. luckily, it was EASY to score at the show, and i would hope for the same again this year, even at MSG ....but i far rather pay the extra $7.50 to 10c and be guaranteed a poster, and not be bothered with it at the show. would be great if they simply made it easy - as in, you have 10c tix - you can pre-order. period.
yeah...i get that....if you have 10c tix....your guaranteed a poster or 2 since you can't buy one ticket! what would be even cooler....is if they gave the posters away with the tickets!!!!!!...i think we are on to something here!
They did this for the Chicago shows last year and it worked wonderfully. Took the stress out of the night. I paid a month or so in advance, and a month or two after the show I got a nice poster tube in the mail.
Yeah this was the best thing ever invented. I was so pissed at MSG '08 night 1 when they were basically selling the posters to whoever walked up to the table. They were setup outside the doors so you didn't even need a damn ticket to buy one. They should just setup out on the sidewalk because that's basically what it was. Then to avoid that on night 2, they rounded up everybody into a cattle shoot and gave out green wristbands. And all that meant was that you were one of the ones in the cattle shoot waiting for a poster. Then once you got to the table, they cut that wristband off and wrapped a new wristband on you which then meant you were eligible to get you a poster. What a mess.

with all due respect
none of these stories even hold a candle to the MSG 2003 Poster debacle.

it was ugly. I got there really early and got one so I did not have to deal with it. Scalpers were paying homeless people to get them and the venue workers took a lot. They were on sale outside which did not help.
Last year, the preorder went great. I so enjoyed not getting to the venue super early, fighting for them, and then holding it all night
