Bristow ? hows the venue etc?

who is trying for Bristow?

i was just in arlington / DC this weekend and would totally drive down there for a PJ show. How is the venue JiffyLubeLive? (Formerly Nissan Pavillion)?

also, how does 10c ticketing work in ampitheaters? ive only used 10c for arena shows.

    To me, it is the worst major venue in and around DC. Traffic in and out of there is horrible, and it will be even worse on a Thursday night. Plan on getting there early, and don't plan on getting out of there fast.

    But the sound is OK and I have never had a problem tailgaiting there.

    venue itself is fairly nice. like most every outdoor pavillion i would say. getting there is not difficult, but give yourself plenty of room in terms of time (this should be common sense right?). I'm leaving work that day at 3, going home to change, and hopefully getting to the venu area by 5:30 and in by 6 for some tailgating.

    will that land me under the pavillion or out on the lawn?
    is the lawn possible w/ 10c tickets? i

    ADD 3 OR 4 HOURS TO YOUR PLANNING, EACH WAY.

    Last time I saw a show there, I was in line to get into the parking lot at about 6:30pm. I did not get into the show until 10pm. In all fairness, it was raining hard... but still, rain keeping people from parking for 3+ hours?

    This venue should be burned to the ground.

    If you want to hear some REAL stories, type in "Radiohead" and "Nissan Pavilion" into google.

    It's a nice venue... but like everyone else said, getting in and out is a major concern. I've never seen anyone get busted for tailgating/drinking... just plan on having cups on hand. The weather should be perfect for an outdoor show in late May too!

    Oh i have heard PLENTY of the Radiohead stories...i just connected the dots when you reminded me. interesting.

    i guess i will have a few days to deicde. if i dont get 10c for Bristow its of to the ticket outlet to try for MSG.

    I am not going to this show, but read a lot about the traffic situation... The Radiohead fiasco seems to be an outlier, but there appear to be real issues with traffic.

    One person posted a solution (from here), but I do not know anything about the area:
    Do not take exit 43, take exit 47 and go right at the Bull Run mall along Wellington Street and get in the back way. Do that one hour before the concert starts and you can park near the exit of the parking lot and you will get out first. If someone had told me that on Sunday it would have saved 4 hours of my life.
    37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)

    I would be surprised if you were put on the lawn with TC tickets, but I have heard in other pavilions of TC members being put behind a post or something, or seated with TM buyers.

    You should be under the pavilion for sure, I don't think 10c has THAT many allocated seats to fill up the entire pavilion...
