PJ Compilation

Since we have a few hours to kill before the focus turns to tickets...

I created two PJ discs for my kids at Christmas so they have great (and clean) versions of their favorite PJ songs. I enjoyed listening to different versions and putting this CD together for them but it took a lot of time. I would like to make a few more compilations and would love your help in identifying some of your favorite versions of PJ songs. For example, my favorite version of Porch is currently at the Gorge 2006-7-22.

Anyone willing to share a favorite live version of any PJ song? Please state the song/show/date.

Thanks!

  • I'll throw Missoula, MT May 2003 DO THE EVOLUTION in there for you.

I have heard a lot of opening EV screams on this one, each time comparing it to this, which is my benchmark. It's intense. Tell them to turn it up as loud as the speakers can handle.
  • Thanks to the contributors so far.

Let me be clear on one thing that may not be obvious in my original post - the current compilation I'm working on is for me so it doesn't have to be clean versions :)

I'll try to compile the responses at some point but I won't do it today or tomorrow.

    Thanks
  • Half Full from MSG 1 2008 is the best version. Not very clean tho
    2006: Albany
    2008: MSG I, MSG II, Newark(EV)
    2009: Albany 1-2(EV), Philly 3
    2010: Boston, MSG I
    2013: Buffalo, Brooklyn II, Hartford
    2016: MSG 1, MSG II, Fenway 1

Footsteps from Lisbon, Portugal. Was that in 05?
Anyway...it's a great version and when the crowd jumps in to sing, it gives me chills.
    Plus I was there! :)

Black - Milano 2006 - the crowd was insane
  • gently bumping - would love your suggestions
  • Black Tokyo 03 only because of line "I fucking know you'll be a star" from Ed. Just that slight change makes it badass.

Long Road from San diego-2006. Ed tells a great story about his old music teacher and how the song came about.

"Betterman" from Mansfield, Massachusetts July 11th 2003. In it the audience sings the 1st verse of the song.
You may also want to add all of the songs from the "A Drop in the Park" show from 1992.
    PJ Shows I have attended:
    May 15, 2010 Hartford, CT
    October 12, 2013 Buffalo, NY

I'd have to say the MTV Unplugged "Porch" is my favorite version of that song. I've never seen another band bring that much raw emotion and energy to an acoustic performance.
  • I love the version of Long Road on Touring Band 2000. Not sure the original location of it though.
