Does "Amongst the Waves" on anyone else's Backspacer vinyl sound like complete dog poop? I can't even listen to it, it just degrades as the song plays and by the end it's just a mess of static. I've calibrated my cartridge and other records sound fine as well as the rest of the Backspacer album. Just this one song. Anyone else's have this problem?

  • I have listened to that track repeatedly on my machines (mkII) and have not heard a problem. Perhaps you could contact the manufacturer and get it replaced, because that song needs to played..LOUD
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

check it out on another turntable . sounds like yours is belt driven . cheers ;)
  • I noticed this too, sounds horrible. Like you say it's just that one song so makes me think its the way its recorded. Noticed it very first time I listened.
buy the ticket, take the ride.

My turntable is direct-drive so that's not the problem.

The whole vinyl sounds like crap, almost literally.

Everything I've read about record players, belt drive is the way to go??
