Are all of the pre-sale tickets usually bought up in a matter of minutes, hours, or days, or does it depend on the show? I just have no idea what kind of numbers(in tickets) go on sale.

That's a mixed answer.
I'd say for most of these venues, all of the people who want tickets will probably exceed the number of tickets available during presale. If their site worked well, they would probably sell out in seconds or minutes. But their site is known for crashing prior to getting to pay for the tickets, so tickets may go into shopping carts, then dumped out while trying to pay... and so on. So it may take hours because of the high likelyhood of the site locking-up, but if the site worked, cities like Boston and NY would sell out immediately. The other venues will likely have a little breathing room.
10% - 20% of a venue is allowed for sale thru the band - though the band once in a while can work out an exception for more.

Yes! So that means the Civic Center has a chance to not sell out immediately!
