Are you kidding. Ed pretty much just plays during Just Breathe and all the other guys add a little backround to it. Jeff adds the beautiful bass line. Matt gives a little beat and Mike and Stone add a little backround. You can hear all of them. Why would you think that they were not plugged in? C'mon dude.
I give this thread a big fat F!

Last time I checked SNL said Pearl JAM was playing, not Eddie. THerefore, choose an appropriate song for the band to play. I know how the song works bro.
A) played their current hit song thats getting a lot of attention and positive response, although not every band member plays on it
or
played a lesser known song that the whole band plays on, just for the sake of including everyone
any band with common sense would have gone with choice A
plus the others got to play on Unthought Known
"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

Yeah I sorta agree with this. I didn't really like the whole spotlight on Eddie during the beginning and then bring the rest of the band into view thing. That works at concerts when Eddie is playing the I Got Shit intro or something like that. But it really looked like a solo artist with a backing band last night.....which is sort of what they've become so I guess it's appropriate.
"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam0925

Is Ed the only one who gets a say regarding what song is played?
