My husband won on a super bowl pool...BIG...and he wants to take us to Disney World on a vacation...I didn't want to pull my kids out of school to go (1st grade & pre school) so we were going to go in June after school gets out.
Than I found out Pearl Jam will be in town that week that we would have been gone...well i cant miss them...I've seen them since 94..about 6 times ....
I love them and i dont wanna miss out......my kids think i love pj more than them....not true..but i really dont do much for my self...ive stayed home for 7 years and i really need a pj concert...2 years since the last show (on Hubbys b-day..no less) .....anyway pulling the kids out of school for 6 days in may and mommy gets her fix too.

Do it... weather would be better in may (not the blistering humidity that comes in june/july)... and the kids will have something to go back to school and brag to their friends about.

if your kids haven't to Disney yet, you gotta take them there. that's your obligation as a parent. If my dad took me to a Brian Wilson concert (his favorite artist) when I was 6 rather than to Disney World, I would think he loves Brian Wilson more than he loves me.

May, especially early May, is better than June for weather and crowds at Disney. You'll be happy you switched.
choosing pearl jam over a family vacation to disney??? you have got to be kidding me...hehehe
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
who's choosing one or the other? it's simply timing. i totally understand. good for you - ENJOY your pearl jam shows AND your family vacation at disney....win-win!
have a GREAT time!
btw - i don't have children...but i would soooo make the same decision. i 'missed' my 15th wedding anniversary last june to hit up 3 euro shows. hubby was HAPPY to let me enjoy, and we celebrated before i left. thankfully, THIS year...we're celebrating our anniversary at home, and then the very next day extending the celebration with a long weekend road-trip to the DC show....then back home for both MSGs. total win-win!
bring ed a pair of mickey ears.
btw - i used to teach, and while i disliked parent pulling their kids out for vacations, especially at your kids ages...so late in the school year...they won't miss at all. go, enjoy, guilt-free! and yes, less crowds, not so hot...perfection!
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
