Is anyone else really excited to see Band of Horses opening the May dates for Pearl Jam? These guys are really really cool and will undoubtedly gain some new fans this spring. Their first two albums, Everything All the Time and Cease to Begin, blend Sub Pop Seattle indie rock seamlessly with southern reverb in the My Morning Jacket style of melting faces. Their third effort, Infinite Arms, will coincidentally be released on May 18th. They have added two additional musicians, so it will be interesting to see how they gel together on a big stage. Several bands have thrived under this spotlight and grown into extremely successful touring acts in their own right. No reason to think that would be any different for BoH. If you're seeing Pearl Jam this May, come early. I promise you won't regret it.

A buddy of mine turned me on to em a little over a year ago. They're awesome. I find myself listening to "Is There A Ghost" off the second album a lot.

I love Funeral and Our Swords from the first one and Ode to LRC off the second one.

Wish I could afford to go to one of the US gigs - Band of Horses and Pearl Jam is a dream gig. Saw BOH a couple of years ago in Dublin and have been in to them ever since. Slight preference for the first album over the second but they're both quality, lookin forward to the third one coming out in May. Definitely a PJ gig to turn up early for!

Not much of a fan, but I'm still a little excited to see them as an opener. I kinda dig their sound, just don't feel like they take it anywhere.

I sincerely wish I could make a show. Seeing that this band was opening nearly made my heart sink. They are a great band. All of those that are going, like Fenway said...show up early, you will not be disappointed.

It's coming out on May 18th, the night of the second Boston show. Two days before MSG I. I'm like you jervin, I want to know the new material ahead of time. I think I'm gonna buy the album, get versed on it, then head to Boston night two to hear the new stuff live. That's the plan at least so far I think.

I also want to say too that BoH will be playing JazzFest in May with Pearl Jam. There's a strong chance Ed jams with BoH and they work on a little number to close out the opening act. Ed and Jim hit it off in 2006 and the result was two gems of A Quick One, While He's Away(The Who) and It Makes No Difference(The Band).
