How would one go about proposing on stage?

It's been done before. I would totally pull the trigger and get on one knee if it could be done in the front row or on stage preceeding Eddie singing Just Breathe.

Any help on this? Could I write a long letter to the 10c and maybe help me out or am I out of luck bc I dont know anybody?

fyi - this would be at the buffalo show

Please don't. For the audience, for the sake of your girl, but mostly for you, just don't.

agreed, I really can't stand public proposals. Propose after the show or before.

I have to agree as well -- especially because at that point its almost as much about being on stage as the proposal which just seems weird. But more because it wastes precious time at a Pearl Jam concert and its cheesy. :)
  • Hope you propose regardless man...

Well now i feel bad. If you really want to go for, then go for it. I wouldn't personally because PJ is "my" thing that I share with my gf. I would choose something we shared together equally or something she liked if i was going to propose. But if you think she would love it, then go for the gusto. Hell, I'm not even gonna be there, so I;m not worried about it :P

man, don't let these people sway you. There all home sitting in their mom's basements waiting for the pizza delivery guy. Look, life is all about memorable experiences. The more of them you have, the better off you are.

Your marriage proposal will be one of those, regardless. But if you are both into PJ and you can pull this off, you really should. Be selfish here: you won't remember one person from that night but until the day you die you'll remember this.

And I'm a guy who's married with kids; trust me, you want to do this.

do what your heart tells you.

    (not to sound cliche.)
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

As a woman, sitting in my office 800 miles from my mom, NOT waiting for any sort of food delivery service....here is my two cents. I can tell you that I told my husband, completely truthfully that I would say no if he proposed in any sort of grandiose public spectacle.
Proposals SHOULD be memorable, and even if you do it while you are sitting on the fucking couch, you are GOING to remember it....because it is your ENGAGEMENT! That being said, proposals are also very personal and you should do it however the hell you want. And if that means on stage at a show, then, go for it.
But, often, I believe that something personal and special to you two might be more touching than going through a complicated setup and making a big scene in front of 15,000 people.
But hey, don't listen to us, we're all just a bunch of assholes. :D:D:D

Here's a suggestion based on my experience: Take her on a PJ-related trip and surprise her with the ring somewhere while on vacation(Not at the concert or near tourists!) You'll have to do your homework on this one! Be creative.

I did this in Italy in 06 and it worked out very well;)

To answer your question, you go about this the same way you would go about getting arrested at a concert. Just jump on stage.

I really do hate public proposals, tho. It's kind of self-centered, but more than that, I would prefer to just do it in private. Just the two of you, on your own terms, etc.

You should not do this as it is annoying for everyone else in the audience. Take them out to eat or do it at home.

If shes into PJ as much as you are? This would be perfect, but to quote Grand Moff Tarkin: "You had better be right about this Vader, i'm taking an awful risk"

I thought it ruined the vibe of the encore at the SLC show last year. As an audience member I was really frustrated by it. it cost us AT LEAST one song :x Thankfully they edited it from the bootleg.. It seems very selfish to divert the time and attention of thousands of people, many of whom have spent lots of money and traveled great distances just so you can have your own special moment.. Besides, What if she said no? How embarrassing would that be? Please don't do it!! But if you do.. Good luck to you. Take her to Niagara Falls and do it!!
