Dates are announced...

I spend 8 hours talking to Flagg and QuarterToTen...

Im going
Im not going
Im driving
We will fly
We can go to 2 shows
We can go to 4 shows....
Im not going to any shows......
BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!

The madness continues for 8 hours....
I finally decide to just put in for 2 days vacation and stick with my original plan....Indy and Cleveland....

So I get off work...Fill out the vacation slip....Hand it to the boss.....He then tells me 5 minutes later....

"You have no more vacation time...Your hire date is 5-22".....

I CANT GO TO ANY FUCKING SHOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a fucking idiot!!!!!

    i was in the same situation in november. I put in for holidays, got rejected, tried to swap some shifts and couldn't, ended up calling in sick and somehow didn't get fired. Funny thing is, i meant to call in sick in the morning before i left for sydney because our phone system displays the region that you call from. But i was so worked up about remembering my valium and not freaking out on the plane (claustraphobic!!) that i forgot to call, then had to call in "sick" from a different stated. hahahaha how did i not get fired? ;)

    $460? For one show? I just cant justify it.......


    I could easily fly into Cleveland on Saturday, and come home Monday morning, and go to work Monday. But again I would be looking at $500-$600, for just one show. Two years ago I would have booked the flight, and been there. But I look at things a little different these days. Spending $500 to go see a band perform one show, is just silly!

    Sorry to hear that Mike but you're thinking with a level mentality keep the job it will get you to future shows ,like you said dropping $500 to $600 on a show not worth it at all unless it came with free hookers and booze :lol::lol:

    That is why I ALWAYS end up in Philly...03, 06, 09....I always get the 2 shows over the weekend. More bang for your buck!!!! One show in Cleveland or Indy for $500? NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!

    vacation accrues throughout the year even if "posts" to you on a certain date. Like if you quit you would get the accrued time even if before a year, a partial number of days. But a lot of employers just give it to you on the anniversary of hire date. I have given employees time a little early if needed even in the first year of employment. Its worth a try to talk to your boss seeing that it falls so close to your anniversary date. He may help you out- I would ;)

    I went through the same process yesterday, and thought, I’ll just do Hartford, it’s on a Saturday, I can drive or take the train and spend the night there. Then I figured, that’s going to cost about $500 bucks just for travel, tickets and hotel – for one show.

    That’s absurd.

    I have other things I need and want to do.

    I just saw four shows in October, I’ll survive.

    And I get a ton of vacation time every year, so come the fall, hopefully they’ll be back and I’ll be more than ready to go.

    Just got you your fix.
    You fly in Chicago to Hartford nonstop Saturday AM, and return Sunday midday for $256 rountrip on United. One night in Hartford should cost you no more than $75, maybe you can crash with someone for free.
    No missed work.
    And you may hang with the likes of myself, Bostonlou and other Bostonians who will be driving down, a number of CT jammers and plenty of NY jammers who'll be coming up.
    Can't beat that with a stick.
