    No doubt about St. Louis.

After the poor attendance at the show in 03 I didn't think they would ever come back.

I'll be making both if these shows for sure. Not sure about anything else though right now. Deer creek would be tue next logical show but work might be an issue. I'm really contemplating MSG if I
    can get a free flight

If we can get tickets, we are going to both shows. Hopefully Noblesville too, but I'm not counting on all 3. Hoping for 2 shows & will be happy if I get to see 1. Kinda nice getting opportunities to see them within easy driving distance, but the road trips are a lotta fun.
Wrigley Field (Chicago) 7/19/13, Pacific Coliseum (Vancouver) 9/25/11, ScottTrade Center (St. Louis) 5/4/10, Sprint Center (KC) 5/3/10, Wachovia Spectrum Arena (Philadelphia) - 10/31/09, Key Arena (Seattle) - 9/22/09, Key Arena (Seattle) - 9/21/09, United Center (Chicago) - 8/24/09, United Center (Chicago) - 8/23/09, Colonial Center (Columbia, SC) - 6/16/08, The Vic Theatre (Chicago) - 8/02/07, Pepsi Center (Denver) - 7/02/06

Actually come to think of it, I just might be a puddle full of detriment.
  • Some friends & I will be making the treck from jazz fest, to KC, & of course STL. I wouldn't miss the KC or STL shows for anything in this world!

I didn't realize there were so many of us coming in from Colorado!!! Anyone have a good recommendation for hotels in KC? Can't wait!!!!

Almost makes it worthwhile for them to play Denver again one of these days. Not all of us booed in '03 during Bu$hleaguer... I think Eddie's still holding a grudge for that! Oh well, we do travel strong. And I did meet plenty of cool Jammers from CO in Salt Lake last year.

CO is one of the coolest places in the country - Fort Collins, Loveland, Boulder, Durango, Fruita - love 'em all. Saw my first concert ever at the CO State football stadium in '75. Charlie Daniels & Shaka Khan opening for the Stones. Camped out across the street at an old drive-in movie theater. Still try to get out there at least once a year to ride my bike in the mtns. If Eddie has a grudge against the entire beautiful state because of some people expressing their opinions about him expressing his opinion (mind you, i'm one of the biggest Liberals you will ever meet), then he's a just another dumbass rockstar, IMHO. Some of my best friends live there and there isn't a conservative in the bunch. Not even close.
And BTW, if booing his politically charged monologues is grounds for dismissal, then South Carolina can say good bye to PJ forever. The people sitting around me damn near booed his ass off the stage in Columbia, '08. I personally don't believe this is a factor on whether or not PJ plays in a state though. It probably all boils down to money and whether or not they enjoy it.
The thing I don't get is why they play in Philly so much?!?
Anyway, hopefully we'll seeya in St. Looie (and KC AND Noblesville)!

GREAT post Slow Moe! I had to respond when you noted the Drive In across the street from Hughes Stadium. I went there every Tuesday night for $0.50 movies when I was going to school at CSU.
And great point on S.C. I saw them in ATL in '03 and all the crowd did by egging Eddie on was get him more fired-up. He eventually came out in a Bush mask and sang Porch with @ 5 other Bushes holding him while he sang. He even made a comment about coke at a PJ show, CLASSIC! I just wish they snowboarded as opposed to surfing. Then SLC/Denver would get plenty of shows, guarenteed!!!
Take care and see you in MO!

My sister works for the Sheraton and both KC and STL venues are really close to some Sheraton/Westin properties. I have her looking into a group rate and I'll let you all know what we come up with in the next few days. A hint - she told me no matter where you're looking to stay - earlier is better. As soon as the hotels start weirdly filling up on a random night, they ususally bump up the rates.

I plan on going to both KC and STL at this point but I'm torn about driving vs. flying. Frontier's DEN-KC rate was $69 when I checked last night which isn't that much more than gas - but if people are plannin on road-trippin' it, well, I might be into that.

  • My husband will be in St. Louis for a trade show so it is destiny that I join him there on 5/4. Don't you agree? So excited. If I get the 10c tickets I am there.

I don't remember it being that bad. It wasn't sold out, but I don't remember it being empty by any means. And they ended up coming back to town again a year later - granted it was at the tiny Fox Theatre, and that did sell out.

Just booked a room at the Downtown KC Holiday Inn & noticed there is a Flying Saucer brewpub between the hotel & concert venue. Who wants to meet there for a few cold beers before the show (assuming we get lucky enough to score some tickets)?

Too bad NOFX isn't opening for PJ. Not a big fan of Band of Horses.

For those who care, STL Scottrade Center is now selling in the 300 level and KC Sprint Center still has good 100 level seats available. Sprint Center only has two levels but they both seat around 19,000. If these shows don't sellout I think they will still get a good turnout.

If most of the 2nd level is sold out then it would be a good turn out. Since its been seven years since they have played KC, a good turnout could persuade them to come back again soon in less than a seven year time span.
