As someone who has never had the privilege of seeing Pearl Jam live before, 5/20 & 5/21-what I hope to be my very first two Pearl Jam concerts- could not come any sooner!!

The amount of excitement I've had since finding this out during school today is gigantic, and I hope I didn't scare my friends with it  It's hard to put this excitement into words, but I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about!

For me personally, it will be extra-special as it will be a great cap-off to my last year of high school, and I discovered my love for Pearl Jam 2 years ago to the month (May '08)!

I really can't wait! I know I'm in for the time of my life!

That is so refreshing indeed, I'm sure those will be two memorable nights. Your first PJ gig stays with you forever!!

  • You are gonna rock your ass off! There's nothing like seeing the band live! And if you get to see both MSG shows, those will no doubt be amazing.

    Best of luck getting tickets!

You gotta drink enough to hit the 'sweet spot'. Enough to loosen up, but not too much so you can be coherent and not have to go to the bathroom during the PJ set.

You are going to be blown away too. Nothing does this band nearly enough justice than actually witnessing them live..... then hearing the same bootleg later is great too. You wont be able to get enough after that.

Long time fan here as well, and I'll be hitting up my first PJ concert(s) this May as well. I was supposed to go to Chicago II last year, but the plans fell through. Not only will this be my first PJ concert, it will be my first major concert since 1993 :). I know, I need to get out more.

Mine. I'm only going to one but I can't wait! I do have some questions though, like is it really that difficult to get tickets online?

for the 10c seats, sometimes it gets very tough, depending on the location of the show/demand.

after the fact though there are many avenues to get tickets without spending an arm and a leg

So if I'm not too picky about where I sit, do Ten Club only offer floor seats before hand or do they have other seats available?

for 10c tix, you are assigned your seats according to your membership number...lower the number, the closer you are

Ticketmaster still has decent seats, and sometimes they are better (if you dont like back of the floor).

Also, in the days leading up to the show, you see many people here trying to part with extra 10c and TM tickets for face value.

Alright guys, thanks. I could be sitting in the way back of the nosebleeds for all I care, I'm just so glad to be going to a show in my own backyard. (In the hometown sense, I'm not CrazyBreed).

The band will look like small ants from the 300s. But the experience will be life changing for sure.

Another thing is, proably just me thinking about all the small things, but is the pot smoke really that bad? That seems to be a lot of the tour memories that people bring up from previous shows.

    define "bad"

do you get disgusted by just getting a whiff of it?

Same here! Of course I'd love to have the best seats possible, but as long as I'm in the venue I will most definitely consider myself lucky :)

I can tolerate it, but there's a difference between a general burning leave smell, and getting a contact high.

Yeah, if you are right adjacent to people smoking multiple joints you might get frustrated, but there isnt a general pot haze everywhere. You will catch whiffs though.

Question for those who saw PJ at MSG in '08 with a really high 10C number: where were your seats? Just trying to maybe get an estimate of where I'd be....

but as I've said before: As long as I'm in the venue, I'll be thrilled!

This is just so exciting :D

  • I had my first PJ live experience in November. It was the best day/night of my life. I now listen to the Sydney bootleg every couple of days to re-live the experience.
My only problem is that i now am a bit obsessive and am aching for them to come in play in Oz again VERY SOON!!!!

When I saw Pearl Jam at the Forum in 2006 it was by far the most pot I'd ever smelled at a rock concert, and still is to this day. On second thought I did see Cypress Hill at KROQ LA Invasion 2007, but that ain't rock. Bottom line is if you don't smell pot, it ain't a real rock show!

Pearl Jam are amazing live and I actually preferred seeing them on the Backspacer tour in 2009 over the 2006 show I went to. That's probably because I prefer Backspacer over Avocado though, haha.

Dublin in June will be my first and then I've got Belfast and London after that. Looking forward to it more than any gig I've ever been to. Somehow I've never been yet and I've listening to PJ from the start. Great seats for Dublin, Belfast 10c tickets and London is a festival so will be going down the front. Hope you enjoy MSG, it looks and sounds amazing and I'll be very envious on those nights
