    scared me.

was expecting to see something along the lines of jeter injured and done for the season.

its going to be VERY weird going to the stadium this season and not see the old stadium there.
  • bound to happen sooner or later, hopefully the park they're building in that space is something the residents of that neighborhood can enjoy.

Not just a sad day for Yankees fans, it's a sad day for baseball fans, including this Red Sox fan.

I'm proud to say I got down to the old Yankee Stadium a few times in my day ... legendary place to catch a game.

Seeing this reminds me of when they were tearing down the old Boston Garden. In that case, it took a long time and you could see it all open for MONTHS off the main expressway running through the city (rte 93) ...

Can always rely on you for a solid perspective on baseball, even if it is the Yanks. It was a great place and will be missed.

This kind of came down slowly like it sounds like the Boston Garden did. Each time I went last season, you could see a new part of it that had been taken down. Not quite that bad though.

Don't get me wrong, I was still laughing my ass off during each Yankee home game at all the empty seats right behind home plate last year ... did the price of those tix come down?

In the mid to even the late 90s, I was all for them tearing down Fenway ... but, I like the changes they've made there, both to the ball park and the neighborhood, the ownership stepped up big there. All they need to do is redo the seats inside the place and it would be absolutely perfect. Ffor example, the seats down the right field line that actually face left center field, and not toward home plate ... forcing several sections of people to crane their necks to the left all game.

But it's interesting to see these two rivals go about their historic ballparks in completely different manors.

As a young Celtics fan. I very much wish I could've had the opportunity to step inside The Boston Garden. Seeing this picture almost brings tears to my eyes. It's amazing how much sentiment an architectural creation can hold.

I always wanted to catch a game at Yankee Stadium. I'm not a real baseball fan, which is why I probably procrastinated to the extreme to do that. :(

I think, when the day comes, that when MSG gets torn down, it'll be a sad day for many concert goers, sports fans, and just about any spectator as MSG has hosted many historic events in its day. Hell, it even hosted the very first WrestleMania...if that's your sort of thing.

Yeah, the tickets came down a bit. They repriced quite a few of them I think. Doubt there will be any empty seats this year, well unsold seats.

Yeah, I lilke what the Red Sox did as well. It's cool but John Henry always cries poor and that place is a money pit for him as well. I have heard that about the seats form a lot of people.

Yeah, never really tought about it like that. Pretty interesting. Oh well, as much as I loved the old place. I am a fan of the new digs.
