The Radisson in Philly -- I need group rate help

ok so PJ philly this past halloween totally spoiled me as far as group rates... best I can get at the Radisson is $140 on March 27th for 1 night. no pj show just a night out in philly...

Can anyone hook be up with a group rate for something sweet?

I worked in the hotel industry for sometime as did my wife. Most hotels will sell you a "block" of rooms but you have to book the reservation on your own credit card, they don't charge it but they reserve it. People do this for weddings all the time and you should have a time period when you can cancel with no obligations but each hotel has a different policy.

So what I would do is either tell them your planning a family trip to the city and need to block a bunch of rooms or lie and tell them it's for your wedding for out of town guest and they will give you a price. I really don't really know how it would go over for if you were blocking it for a bunch of concert goers but you never know.

That being said you would also have to get some folks you trust to buy into the deal because generally you have to guarantee that a certain number of rooms are going to be used. For example if you block 10, 5 of them have to be paid for or whatever their ratio is. It is worth it though, it brought the price down for guest staying at the Hyatt in STL something like $150 a night down to $109 with our discounted rate for the block of rooms.

well really i just wanted to piggy back on someone elses existing group rate or business rate cause i only need 2 rooms, but i'm really cheap and want to pay less then other people because i know i shouldn't pay what other chumps pay

LOL, nice. Well if you or someone in your party has AAA Insurance they give great discounts at hotels which I use all the time or if your lucky enough to know someone that works for a hotel chain that your wanting to stay at they can get you a friends and family rate most times.

To be honest I generally stay outside of the city limits if need be, preferably no more than a 15 minutes drive to the venue.
