Actually I have the unique ability to separate the real world, from the entertainment industry. I love Shawshank Redemption, but the last time I checked Andy and Red are fictional characters that do not exist, and I really don't care one way or the other about the people that portray them. Just like I loved Into The Wild, Mystic River and Dead Man Walking. That doesn't mean I care for Sean Penn personally.
As a side note however, I actually LOVE Michael Moore. I think he's a great film maker. I may not necessarily agree with everything he says, but I actually enjoy the way he presents his point of view. I actually agree with him, more than I disagree. Hell I just started a thread a few days ago here about how much I loved Capitalism A Love Story.
Note that Brynzie does not understand any response that contains even an iota of nuance or moderation. He will now proceed to attach further labels to you personally and will undoubtedly tell you exactly why and how you are a redneck moron, probably backing it up with a few quick wiki references.

Or you people on this thread spewing sewage out of your mouths can just admit that the real reason you feel such hatred towards him is because of his left wing politics.
I notice that you right wing flag suckers also love spewing the same kind of sewage out of your mouths whenever Michael Moore is mentioned.
So there are no liberals wishing for the death of Rush Limbaugh in that other thread?

Nuance or moderation? Like calling Sean Penn a piece of shit and a big dick? Please explain for me where the nuance and moderation is in these comments?
difference is he puts his time and money where his mouth is
The first point is highly debatable.
Though of course someone who defends Glenn Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh in any capacity whatsoever isn't a right winger. I suppose this is another example of nuance and moderation that I fail to grasp, right?

Forgive me for not being more specific ... I have little to no respect for ANY of these people, Glenn Beck in particular. If I thought that these right-wing media types were actually smarter than Penn, I would have said so, instead of the more general "its debatable" response.

There's none, you are right. I was referring to your lumping me in with Glenn Beck. Not cool.

Oh please, don't cry. Just because I simply use the same tactic, abrasiveness and methods many others on here utilize when the point of view matches that of your own, it's all of a sudden wrong now? I don't mind stepping down into the gutter with some of you from time to time.
what i do know......as long as we have people on the far left or far right, we will be ok. the time to worry, is when either of these groups disappear. because your group will be next.
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
So, why not just post the article instead of merely providing a link for it, so that those people slagging Sean Penn here can just what their defending?:
Lonewolf Diaries: Media Gives Sean Penn a ‘Rectal Cancer’ Pass
by Steven Crowder
Is it just me, or do the “outrageous” quotes from Limbaugh, Coulter, and Beck that send the mainstream-media into a tizzy pale in comparison to the vitriolic hatred of Penn?
If Sean Penn were to tell his detractors to take a hike, that would be fine. If he suggested that they jump off a bridge, I’d be cool with that. But to describe in vivid detail, a torturous, agonizing death (one from which many cancer-sufferers were likely suffering while watching the interview from their hospital beds) in which his detractors should perish, is evil, pure and simple. The worst part about it is that we all know Sean Penn isn’t quick enough to think on his feet, which leaves no doubt that the man had spent “a lot of energy on it” in order to craft the graphic mental imagery beforehand. What a sick, twisted, vulgar, knee-high little minikin.
Listen Sean, I don’t like you. Really, I don’t. Yet you’ve never heard me wish upon you the most agonizing of cervical cancers.
Would I love to pummel you? If I could cut five or six weight classes, yes of course I would. Better yet, I’d rather just let any of the photographers or women you’ve assaulted in years past line up to womp you one by one, a la “Airplane.”
Would I like to see you shunned from your Hollywood brethren for hate speech? Sure, why not? He who lives by the politically correct sword deserves to die by it.
I don’t, however, want to see you die a horrible, excruciating death. Not only because you’re undoubtedly going to hell, but because it’s just not my style to wish that on anybody, nor is it for most conservatives. We tend to be decent people. See, we call you and your ilk elitists, you call us scrotum-suckers (i.e. teabaggers). We point out your misguided ideals, you call us racists. We make fun of your cable networks pathetic ratings, you call us propagandists. Is anyone else noticing the pattern here?
This isn’t just about Jeff Spicoli. Sean Penn’s recent comment is the epitome of all that is wrong with Tinseltown. They can hurl the most vile, angry, hateful insults at middle-Americans because they know that the press will cover for them. On the flip-side, conservatives constantly have to play defense because they know that any marginally offensive comment they make will be blown-up into hate speech of epic proportions and played on a never-ending repeat circuit in the mainstream media. Who else is sick of it? In the spirit of honesty, I ask you conservatives, what would you say if someone like Rush Limbaugh wished all of his detractors “died screaming of rectal cancer”?
As for Sean, you disgust me. Yet, I would never hope to see you die an agonizing death, screaming from uterine cancer. See how that works?'
Sean Penn's cancer remark was just a throwaway comment. He could have used 101 other phrases that would have gotten his point across. Just the fact that he happened to use the C word gave all you smug right wingers an excuse to take some phony moral high-ground.
Rather than just reading the shit that the author of the above piece wrote, how about watching the full interview instead and making up your own minds about it?
As for the author of the above piece, Steven Crowder, he's obviously a fucking dick. There's really no way you can defend this guy.
by the way, the author is a moron. guys can't get cervical cancer....and he sounds like just another whiney conservative complaining because "the liberal media and hollywood give him a pass but not coulter, limbaugh, and beck....WAH WAH!!!"
and he wishes for penn to be beaten by a line of women airplane style.. IMO he is no better than penn for wishing violence on him...
Do you really believe all the crap you type?
Seriously, isn't there ever a time where you think..."You know what, I'm not going to try and defend this douchebag even thought I have agreed with him on some things in the past...he's just a crazy moron now"?
You remind me of those here that you love to butt heads with about Rush and Beck, etc.
So, why not just post the article instead of merely providing a link for it, so that those people slagging Sean Penn here can just what their defending?:
Because there's something called Fair Use in copyright law, which basically boils down to this - you can link to an article online, and you can quote a few relevant lines from it, but you're not allowed to copy and paste it wholesale to another site.
It also has the added benefit of not making threads way too long, and it allows people who are not particularly interested in the article to skip over it (I despise that lying scumbag Andrew Breitbart, for instance, and I'm not giving his site the satisfaction of clicking on it), and those who want to can read it for themselves in the original venue.
I would appreciate it if everyone kept this in mind so as not to get this site in legal trouble.

Maybe I get that impression from your persistent objection to every single criticism of Israel that has ever appeared on this message board.
Maybe I also get that impression from posts of yours such as the following:

No doubt. Every interview....even on Iconoclasts, he seems like such a buzzkill.
Maybe because they don't do any charity work.
So why do you have his picture as your avatar? :?
They didn't answer the question now did it. What facts do people have?
