At first I thought it was just kinda 'eh', but as I've been listening it's been getting better every time!
Really looking forward to Congratulations & seeing where MGMT take their music!

i didn't know what to think of it the first time, and then i listened to it a few more times and over and over, and now i fucking love it. the sign of good music, to me! i'm glad they're going this route with a complete album, rather than a few catchy singles.

what route did they go last time? i thought the debut was a pretty damn good album. can't fault the band that a couple tracks became massively popular. the first time i heard it i thought it was great. it definitely had the sound of something that could gain some serious radio success, but i thought the guys were a little too weird and trippy for the mainstream. apparently i was wrong....

anyway, i'm just curious as to what route you are talking about, because i haven't heard the single. i'm probably just gonna wait for the album to listen to it as a whole....if i can control myself.

maybe i used the phrasing wrong, but they said themselves that there won't be a 'time to pretend' off this album. i thought their first album had some amazing tracks on it, but this new album seems to be one that will be full of good tracks, where one won't stand out as much, and it won't be necessarily as accessible as the first album.
